Seventeen-year-old Shirley is a good student who works as a babysitter in order to make money for college. One night Michael, a father Shirley works for, confesses he's unhappy with married life. Shirley has a crush on Michael, and seizes this moment to kiss him. Michael is so happy he presents Shirley with a big tip, which gives her an idea. Shirley plans to make extra money by setting up her teenage friends with other unhappy fathers.
Directed by David Ross, this 2008 drama follows Shirley, a diligent high-school student babysitting to save for college, whose life takes a fraught turn after a charged encounter with one of the fathers she works for leads her toward a risky scheme. The film examines temptation, ambition, and moral compromise as a teenager edges into territory far beyond her years. Its tone is unsettling and morally murky rather than sensational. With a MagicMovieScore of 6.0, it is intended for mature viewers drawn to provocative character dramas that probe poor choices, blurred boundaries, and the consequences of crossing serious lines.
