MovieMagicScore Overview
Auto-generatedWilliam Brent Bell directs this 2016 horror, mystery, and thriller in which a young American woman takes a nanny position in a secluded English village, only to learn the family's child is a lifelike doll governed by an oddly strict set of rules. The tone is eerie and slow-building, mining unease from isolation and the uncanny. Themes of grief, control, and the dread lurking beneath a quiet household shape the suspense. With a MagicMovieScore of 6.0, it appeals to viewers who enjoy atmospheric, doll-centered horror and mysteries that reward patience as the rules begin to unravel.
